Jahdae Barron Praises Arch Manning’s Humility and Talent

During his NFL Scouting Combine appearance with the media on Thursday, Barron praised his former teammate, Manning.

“He’s the most humble kid I’ve ever been around.”

“I think, the second week he was there, as a freshman, he is two lockers down from me. He asked to take my loop to the laundry thing. I tell him, ‘Aren’t you good, you don’t have to do it.’ But he just wanted to do it. He just wanted to show me that he wasn’t better than anybody. That he is still part of this team.”

This simple act of kindness and fellowship displayed Manning’s modesty and his desire to blend seamlessly into the team dynamics.

Manning, who spent his first two seasons at Texas as a backup, is now entering his first season as the Longhorns’ envisioned starter.

Last season, the rising redshirt sophomore completed 61 of 90 passes for 939 yards with nine touchdowns and two interceptions in prolonged play following the injury of starter Quinn Ewers, who is also a 2025 NFL draft potential.

Manning has been praised for his early returns as a leader, which Barron highlighted on Thursday.

“I think Arch, the sky’s the limit for that man,” Barron told reporters in Indianapolis.
