Following the fallout after the punishments that Michigan has received over the Connor Stalions sign stealing scandal. Head coach Sherrone Moore will be serving a two-game suspension over his alleged role in it. With Michigan taking on Central Michigan on Saturday, many are now asking who will be taking over as head coach for those two games?
The answer is former Charlotte 49ers head coach Biff Poggi, who joined the Michigan coaching staff during the offseason. He served as the Charlotte head coach for two seasons, garnering a 6-16 record before being fired by the school over his dismal record there.

Under Moore, Poggi currently serves as the associate head coach for the Wolverines. He was not part of the team when the sign stealing scandal, which was perpetrated by then-defensive analyst Connor Stalions, broke out.
The two games that Sherrone Moore is slated to miss will be the season opener against Central Michigan on Saturday, and then their second game of the season at Nebraska, which is happening seven days later. Moore is expected to return on Oct. 3 against Wisconsin.

Why Was Sherrone Moore Implicated in Connor Stalions Sign Stealing Scandal?
As for why Sherrone Moore was implicated in the scandal, he was already part of the Michigan coaching staff at that time, acting as Jim Harbaugh’s offensive coordinator. While Stalions was the mastermind of the operation, there was evidence of Moore knowing about Stalions paying people to spy on the games their upcoming opponents were playing between 2021 to 2023.
In particular, he was accused of deleting evidence regarding his ties to the sign stealing operations, allegedly deleting 52 messages between himself and Stalions.
Following the scandal surfacing, Stalions left Michigan, with head coach Jim Harbaugh, who benefited the most from the scandal, also leaving, and Moore was chosen as the next head coach. Harbaugh and Stalions have been banned by the NCAA from coaching activities, though his punishment does not affect him as much as he is still the head coach of the LA Chargers in the NFL.
