Sheduer Sanders is projected to go off the board as early as a top-five prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. During the Colorado Buffaloes and Sanders’ last game of the season, the team secured a dominant victory and justified the preseason hype.
In the postgame press conference, Sanders reminded fans that the Buffs would come back stronger than ever in 2025. He joked about funding the collective as alumni and building a super team, with the latest addition of five-star QB Julian Lewis.
Shedeur Sanders Speaks on Leaving Legacy Behind Him at Colorado
Speaking about the Buffaloes’ outlook after his eventual departure, Sanders shared how he wishes for Colorado to continue to see success even after he goes pro.
“The main thing is to surround them and give them everything that I wish I could have had. So it’s basically set them up for success, and everything in my power I personally could do. I’m gonna do it,” Sanders said with determination.
“I’m gonna donate to the collective for sure, tax write-off. So, yeah, collective stuff, so it makes me have a super team next year. But I’m just happy for the new guys coming in and that we paved the way for them, and now that they just got to take control,” he added.
Colorado had a major win last month after flipping the commitment of five-star QB Julian Lewis from USC. After multiple visits, Coach Prime Deion Sanders was able to land an apt replacement for his son to lead from the pocket.
No doubt, Sanders and other talents like Travis Hunter leaving for the NFL will create a big void on the roster.
Sanders Throws Light on Brotherhood With Hunter After Big Game
One of the primary reasons behind the Buffs’ 9-3 record was Hunter leading the forces on offense and defense. This season, he’s recorded 92 catches for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns as a wide receiver. Similarly, four interceptions and 11 pass breakups became highlights of his defensive skills.

Speaking after the game, his QB mentioned Hunter’s decision to arrive at Jackson State and stick with Coach Prime all the way to Boulder.
“I learned a lot from him, also his vice versa, his life experiences, and the things he could have done, and the fact that he sacrificed all that to come and stay here and play and play with us is amazing, and it’s something a lot of athletes wouldn’t do at the time,” Sanders said.
“You wouldn’t see too many high recruits come and do all that, because now it’s a risk. It’s a high risk. So Travis had a vision. He’s surrounded by the best people that he can be surrounded by to help him achieve his goal and everything he wants to do.”
Standing as a Heisman favorite, December 14 could prove decisive for Hunter’s all-time portfolio. Boise State Broncos RB Ashton Jeanty, Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward, and Oregon Ducks passer Dillon Gabriel happen to be others in contention for the coveted honor, in what appears to be a two-man race between Hunter and Jeanty.
The latest odds have Hunter winning the Heisman by a landslide, thus cementing his status as an all-time great and his 2024 season as one of the best seasons we’ve ever seen.
