In a September 2023 livestream reposted by MLFootball, Deion Sanders, Shedeur’s father, asked Tom Brady, “Do you think a college kid needs a Phantom Rolls-Royce?” In the NIL era, players now earn more money, which is suitable for their careers.
Tom Brady could have agreed and concluded that it was Sanders’ choice. But for a player he wants the best for, his response was different.

Brady responded “I think he needs to get his a*ss in the film room and spend as much time as possible (in the film room) and less time in the car and more in the film room.” Spending more time in the film room would enable Sanders to glean valuable lessons to improve his skills and football knowledge.
Film study is becoming increasingly popular in college football. As such, players can access real-time data that helps them understand plays better and exposes them to the sport’s dos and don’ts. If Sanders listens to this advice at this point in his career, his progress will be more evident.

Sanders was recently selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed his college career with Jackson State and Colorado from 2021 to 2024.
In his final college season at Colorado, he played 13 games, had 37 touchdowns, and recorded 4,134 passing yards, 10 interceptions, 168.2 passer rating, 74% completion percentage, and four rushing touchdowns.
