The Oregon Ducks may be playing without one of their top wide receivers for the 2025 season in Evan Stewart, who underwent surgery for a torn patellar tendon in June. Now, the Ducks star has revealed an update on his condition, revealing that he is now in the rehabilitation process.
In a reel he posted on his Instagram account, Evan Stewart talked about the mental toll that his injury has given him. The video showed him undergoing various rehabilitation processes as he gets on the road to recover.
“Mentally, it’s just been long,” Stewart said in the clip. “It’s just a bunch of time occupied.”

No timeline has been given for his recovery, with head coach Dan Lanning saying during the Big Ten Media Days that Stewart is a big part of the Ducks offensive line and that he has a big role on the field. However, Lanning admitted he is not sure when Stewart will be able to return yet.

Dan Lanning Talks About Evan Stewart’s Injury
Evan Stewart was supposed to be the primary passing target for Oregon Ducks’ projected starting quarterback Dante Moore, with the two seen to be a good offensive combination. However, this possible combination was one of the things that has been put on a shelf thanks to Stewart’s injury.
Stewart’s absence from the receiver room has many questioning who will fill the void for the Ducks. Dan Lanning talked to Sports Illustrated regarding the wide receiver situation at Eugene:
“He’s going to be down for a while,” Lanning admitted. “I don’t want to put a timeline on Evan. I don’t know how long that’ll be, but he’s on the road recovery and he’s done a lot for the Ducks. We love having him be a part of our team and hopefully at some point he can make an impact for us. But I don’t know exactly what that looks like forever.”
Many expected Evan Stewart to finally shine for the Ducks in 2025 after Tez Johnson and Traeshon Holden went to the NFL. However, his injury forced him to the sidelines and stopped those plans. Still, even without one of their top wide receivers on the field, Oregon, which was the No. 1 team last season, is considered one of the favorites coming into the 2025 season.
