MORE: Big Ten Standings, 2023
The 2024 Big Ten football season will feature a combination of protected opponents and rotating opponents for each university. Each member institution will continue to play nine intraconference games per season, and teams will play every other conference opponent at least twice – once home and once away – and will play rotating opponents no more than three times in five years.
Conference schedules will include 12 protected matchups that will continue to be played annually and feature a combination of historic and geographic rivalries, as well as trophy games. These matchups were finalized in conjunction with all 18 member institutions to ensure the traditions of the Big Ten Conference remain strong as the conference evolves.
Oregon’s schedule draws 13 games in the regular season, a rare occurrence for a Power Five team. The Big Ten made their game against their fellow former Pac-12 rival Washington Huskies an annually protected game.
Oregon splits their games against the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines on the road and at home but will only have four conference games on the road and one of them is at UCLA, drawing a heavy home-field advantage for the upcoming season.
