The Lane Kiffin coaching rumors might soon be put to rest. For the last few weeks, speculations about Kiffin’s future with Ole Miss have gone through the roof. With LSU relentlessly pursuing him, Kiffin has remained a hot topic of discussion.
There have been speculations about what he’s being offered by the Tigers, the Rebels’ willingness to match the offer, and whether he sees himself with the same program in the long run. It seems like all speculations have now reached a dead end.
As per On3’s Chris Low, Kiffin is headed to LSU, and the confirmation for the same is set to arrive on Monday. On3 recently posted a report from Low, which claims that it’s not only Kiffin who’s going away, but he’s taking most of his staff with him.
“Lane Kiffin has lined up most of his offensive staff to join him at LSU,” the report said. “He’s told them if they’re not on the plane to Baton Rouge today, they won’t have a spot on staff. The Tigers have a press conference scheduled for Monday to officially introduce Lane Kiffin as its next head coach.”

With the drama finally coming to an end, football fans are wondering what would happen to an abandoned Ole Miss now.
“those ole miss players really played their heart out just for their coach to abandon them,” a fan wrote.
“Whole staff gone right before playoffs is insane,” a fan wrote.
“College football is insane man. I feel bad for those Ole Miss players… smh,” a fan wrote.
“Don’t y’all ever complain about a player transferring again…” a fan wrote.
“Ole Miss gonna have a skeleton staff for the CFP,” a fan wrote.
“Coaches want loyalty from players when the coach ain’t even loyal to them. SMH,” a fan wrote.

If the report is true, this will close one of the most chaotic chapters of Rebels football history. All the fans can do right now is be patient and wait for the official confirmation.

Lane Kiffin Made the Rebels’ Worst Nightmare a Reality
Amid the ongoing speculations about his future with the Rebels, many hoped that he’d at least lead them through the playoffs. Kiffin himself was adamant that he just wanted to focus on the upcoming playoffs.
Whenever he was asked about the rumors, he declined to provide a clear answer, but he always maintained that his focus was on the Rebels. Yesterday, ESPN’s Marty Smith reflected on a potential problem that the Rebels might run into if Kiffin doesn’t make his stance clear.
“I’m told, if he wanted to stay, he would’ve already said so. One sticking point still being considered…if he did leave, whether or not he’ll coach the Ole Miss Rebels in the College Football Playoffs,” Smith said.

Hours later, the program now seems to be in a position where they can be called directionless. As good as the Rebels are, navigating the next stretch of the season without the coach who brought them here is going to be a very difficult task.
