‘Way Better Than Tua Tagovailoa’: Miami QB Quinn Ewers Leaves Fans Stunned Over Electric Play Against Bucs

After throwing two interceptions in the terrible loss against the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Quinn Ewers has left fans stunned with his play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Dolphins are leading 17-7 at halftime, and Ewers deserves credit for that. The rookie has completed 10 of 16 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Ewers has taken the starting quarterback role after the Dolphins decided to bench Tua Tagovailoa for the second straight game. Seeing Ewers doing well in the position, some fans are convinced the rookie is better than Tagovailoa.

“I’m not trolling when I say this: Quinn Ewers is genuinely way better than Tua Tagovailoa. It’s actually not close,” one fan wrote.

“Definitely better than the Tua we’ve seen this year. His regression has been real!” one fan added.

“Bro is making throws Tua can’t make and saving fumbles,” one fan reacted.

“Way stronger arm and not afraid to play,” one fan posted.

“I would say Ewers has the better tools. Far better. Like it’s not even close. Doesn’t mean he will be a great QB but he has it all there in his tool box if he can read defenses. McDaniel isn’t helping with his stupid gimmick plays,” another fan added.

“I have a friend that’s a hardcore Giants fan, and for the past 2 years he’s been telling that Ewers would be a stud and how the Giants needed to draft him. I’m starting to think that he was on to something,” one fan commented.

Quinn Ewers Could Solidify as Miami QB1

After a string of poor performances, the Dolphins might finally be looking away from Tua Tagovailoa. They decided to bench Tagovailoa ahead of the game against the Bengals as they are already out of playoff contention, and they want to evaluate Ewers in the remaining games of the season.

Against the Bengals, Ewers showed promise early, completing the passes and moving the offense well. However, in the second half, he had a meltdown, finishing with multiple interceptions and no touchdowns in a 45-21 loss.

Despite the unwanted result, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel showed faith in the quarterback, appreciating his composure and improvement.

“The biggest thing was the idea of starting quarterback; you want to see the game not be too big for them,” McDaniel said. “You want to see some composure, some feel, some understanding of time and space. You want to see them be able to hold onto the ball when the pocket allows, but to get rid of the ball when the pocket is coming down on you, and I think he – it was impressive.”

It remains to be seen if Ewers registers his first career win with the Dolphins on Sunday. If he does that, the Dolphins might start to see him as the quarterback for the future.
