The Los Angeles Rams will be on their bye week this weekend, which gives them the much-needed time to assess Puka Nacua’s situation. The wide receiver suffered an ankle sprain in Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens during a 17-3 victory.
The then-catch leader of the league was limited in the second half and didn’t get a single catch. He was completely absent from the 35-7 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars this past weekend.
#Rams WR Puka Nacua, the NFL’s leader in catches, suffered an ankle sprain that will likely cause him to miss time, per me and @MikeGarafolo.
It would make sense for Nacua to be out next week against the #Jaguars, then LAR has a bye to regroup and assess. pic.twitter.com/6e8EaBpe9m

This is where the bye week comes in handy for Los Angeles. According to reports, Week 8 gives them enough time to get Puka Nacua back into shape to play against the New Orleans Saints in Week 9.
What Happened to Puka Nacua?
During the Week 6 game against the Baltimore Ravens, Puka Nacua landed awkwardly after a reception attempt in the second quarter. He was initially helped off the field, but returned in the third quarter. However, the 24-year-old seemed heavily limited and didn’t record any other catches.
Is Puka Nacua Playing Week 8?
He isn’t, but not because of his injury. The Los Angeles Rams are on their bye week, and they won’t play until Week 9 when they host the New Orleans Saints at SoFi Stadium. Crucially, the extra week gives time for the team to assess and complete Nacua’s recovery.
Puka Nacua Fantasy Outlook
Keep Nacua in your roster; in any case, he wasn’t going to play this weekend, and you should rely on your bench for this bye week. His impressive performance so far this season demonstrates he’s a great long-term asset to hold. So far, he has 54 receptions and 616 receiving yards. It’s notable that he only has two touchdown receptions.
