“Now He Really Won’t Be Able To See Jaylen Waddle”: Fans Troll Tua Tagovailoa as Viral Clip Reveals Miami QB’s Eye Injury

Tua Tagovailoa’s Miami Dolphins have endured a rough stretch this season, entering Week 8 with a disappointing 1–6 record. Despite boasting a talented offense, consistency has been hard to find, and turnovers have plagued their rhythm.

Facing the Atlanta Falcons today, the Dolphins finally look in control, leading 17–3 at halftime and showing some signs of balance on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been at the center of the team’s struggles, with injuries and inconsistency defining much of his year.

Heading into today’s game, he was listed with an illness that left his left eye noticeably swollen. The condition, caught on camera during the broadcast, quickly went viral across social media.

Fans wasted no time poking fun at the Dolphins’ signal-caller, joking that his swollen eye might make it even harder to spot his top wideout, Jaylen Waddle, downfield.

“Now he really won’t be able to see Jaylen Waddle,” a fan wrote.

“He already can’t see over the line, now this?!” a fan wrote.

“Could also be his 10 concussions,” a fan wrote.

“He already can’t read the defense now he can’t see it,” a fan wrote.

“That doesn’t look good,” a fan wrote.

“Plays like he can’t see anyway so no change,” a fan wrote.

Despite the illness and the problems he’s facing because of it, Tagovailoa has been impressive in the first half against the Falcons. He has gone 13 of 17 for 111 yards with two touchdowns. While the fans are trolling him, Tagovailoa is making a difference on the field.

    Tua Tagovailoa Injury

Tagovailoa was added to the Dolphins’ injury report this week with an illness that caused visible swelling around his left eye. The issue is not believed to be a result of contact or trauma but rather a reaction linked to the illness itself.

Despite the swelling, Miami’s medical staff cleared him to start against Atlanta, signaling that the situation isn’t considered serious. In addition to the illness, Tagovailoa has been managing a lingering left thumb problem from earlier in the season.

The combination of minor ailments has raised concerns about his grip and accuracy, especially given his recent turnover struggles. Entering Week 8, Tua had thrown for over 1,300 yards and 11 touchdowns but also tallied 10 interceptions.

While the eye swelling doesn’t appear to threaten his availability, it has drawn attention because of how visible it is on the field. So far, Tagovailoa has shown through his performance that it doesn’t affect his game at all.
