Jaxson Dart’s Concussion Protocol Check Under Investigation as Giants Seemingly Rush QB Out of Medical Tent vs Eagles

Jaxson Dart’s concussion evaluation during the Giants’ win over the Eagles is under investigation after questions arose about how the team handled the process on the sidelines. The NFL and NFLPA have opened a joint review to determine whether the concussion protocol was followed properly.

Dart took a hard hit late in the third quarter and was briefly removed from the game. He was sacked on a play that left him clutching his head. He was escorted to the blue medical tent for an examination, as required under league rules.

Cameras caught head coach Brian Daboll leaning toward the tent and speaking with medical staff, appearing impatient as the process unfolded. Backup quarterback Russell Wilson entered the game while Dart was being evaluated.

A few minutes later, Dart was cleared and returned to finish the game. The concern from the league and players’ association centers on whether the evaluation was conducted without outside pressure. Concussion protocol rules specify that only the player, medical personnel, and independent specialists may be inside the tent.

Coaches and staff are not allowed to influence or expedite the process. The review will look into whether Daboll’s presence near the medical tent or any internal sideline communication led to a rushed clearance.

Following the incident, Daboll apologized to the team’s medical staff for his behavior, acknowledging that he may have crossed a line by trying to check in during the evaluation. The Giants have since stated that Dart passed all required tests and showed no symptoms after the game, but the NFL’s review will confirm whether every procedural step was properly followed.

The outcome could lead to further guidance or penalties if protocol violations are confirmed, adding scrutiny to how teams balance safety with on-field urgency.

Brian Daboll Expressed Remorse for His Actions

The New York Giants registered an important and dominant 34-17 win over the Eagles. Unfortunately, the celebrations for the win were marred by the controversy around Daboll’s actions during the game.

After the game, he spoke to the reporters and expressed remorse. Daboll stated that during a game, a lot of emotions run high on the sidelines.

“There’s a lot of emotions. And I certainly am an emotional guy. I apologized directly to our team physician. I just wanted his ass out there if he was OK,” Daboll SAID.

“But I wanted the process—like, we were getting ready to go for it on a potential fourth down. I would have burned a timeout if he could have came out there. So I was asking how long is it gonna take?”

Daboll said that as a head coach, he wants his key players to be on the field. In this case, he jumped the gun and failed to realize the severity of the situation.
