Is Keon Coleman Playing Tonight? Latest Status Update on Bills WR Ahead of TNF vs. Texans

Wide receiver Keon Coleman and the Buffalo Bills are set to play the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football. Coleman is coming off a week where the coaches decided not to play him. Heading into Thursday’s game, it appears likely that Coleman will be a healthy scratch once again.

This news was confirmed by multiple sources in the days leading up to the game. Insider John Frascella tweeted about it on Wednesday night. He suggested that it could be time for the Bills to move on from Coleman.

Buffalo Bills are benching Keon Coleman AGAIN this week I don’t think it’s insane to at least consider that he may never play for the Bills again There are disciplinary issues, his performance hasn’t been good at all and the Bills Offense looked much better WITHOUT him against the Bucs Buffalo could at least consider moving on altogether.”

Why is Keon Coleman Not Playing Tonight vs. Texans?

In nine games this season, Keon Coleman has 32 receptions for 330 yards and three TDs. The Bills reportedly benched him last week for being late to a team meeting, among other disciplinary issues. After being benched last week, Coleman spoke about getting on the same page with the coaching staff and how he needs to be a professional.

“Doing what I’m supposed to do, doing the right things, being where I’m supposed to be… You can’t make those types of mistakes,” Coleman said. “You’re a professional.”

While there has been a discussion among fans and analysts about the possibility of the Bills moving on from Coleman, head coach Sean McDermott still believes in Coleman. He spoke about how it is disappointing to need to bench him for off-field issues, but he still believes in him as a young player and person. So, it appears likely that the Bills will give another chance to Coleman this season, but it just will not be this week.
