Is Justin Herbert Playing Today? What Fantasy Managers Should Know About Chargers QB Ahead of Week 16 vs. Cowboys

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is one of the toughest quarterbacks in the NFL.

During the Chargers’ Week 13 game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Justin Herbert broke his non-throwing hand (left hand) and looked as if he could miss some time. He underwent successful hand surgery the following Monday.

Considered day-to-day with the injury, Herbert didn’t miss any time, playing the following Sunday in Week 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Though he hasn’t been sidelined, Herbert hasn’t had the best performances in either of the last two games, completing just 56% of passes for 349 yards, two passing touchdowns, and two interceptions. Still, he’s led the Chargers to wins over the two Super Bowl teams from last season in the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

    Is Justin Hebert Playing Today?

Yes, Justin Herbert is playing today against the Dallas Cowboys. He made an appearance on the injury report earlier this week (full participation in practice with hand injury) but does not have a game status listed, meaning he is good to play.

The Chargers have been making sure Herbert has been okay and the hand injury hasn’t bothered him to the point where he needs to be sidelined.

On the season, Herbert has thrown for 3,191 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 12 touchdowns while completing 58.4 percent of his passes.

    Los Angeles Chargers Playoff Scenarios

The Los Angeles Chargers enter Week 16 with a 10-4 record, and in good position to appear in the postseason. A win against the Cowboys today plus an Indianapolis Colts loss or tie clinches a postseason berth for the Chargers. The same scenario works for LA if the Houston Texans lose today.

The Chargers could also clinch a playoff berth today with a tie+ either a Texans or Colts loss.

Prior to Sunday’s slate of football games, only four team have officially clinched playoff berths. The Denver Broncos are the only AFC team officially in the playoffs as of right now while the Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles, and Los Angeles Rams are in the playoffs.
