Jake Ferguson and the Dallas Cowboys are taking on the Washington Commanders this weekend in an attempt to take the No. 2 spot in the NFC East standings. Despite having the best offense in the league, the Cowboys have been struggling with a record of 2-3-1.
This is mainly due to them having arguably the worst defense in the nation, an unenviable set of stats between both units of their team.
Ferguson’s fiancée and former Miami Hurricanes basketball standout Haley Cavinder is in Arlington to watch the game at AT&T Stadium. To commemorate the game, Cavinder went on her Instagram account to share a short reel of herself alongside Ferguson’s mother, Dawn Alvarez Thomas. Both were in matching outfits to support the Cowboys’ tight end.
Cavinder and Ferguson’s mother were seen in matching mustard tops with the number #87. In the caption, she wrote:

Ferguson and Cavinder started dating in September 2023, while the basketball player was on a hiatus from her athletic career at the college level and the tight end was in his second season in the NFL.
The couple got engaged in April of this year, and they’re expected to tie the knot in the late spring or early summer of 2026.
Jake Ferguson’s Stats In The 2025 Season So Far
Jake Ferguson has been heavily targeted in 2025, with 44 receptions, which are tied for the fourth most in the league so far this season. This translates into being the second-best receiver for Dak Prescott this season, with 305 receiving yards (second most on the Cowboys roster) and four touchdowns (seventh most in the league). He’s currently averaging 6.9 yards per catch.
Ferguson is just 189 yards shy of his total yards last season, but his best season is still a bit far away at 761 total yards in 2023. That was by far his best NFL season so far, with a career-high five touchdowns in 71 receptions. That year, he earned a Pro Bowl selection, his only one so far.
