Fantasy Football TE Rankings Week 9: Top Tight Ends To Start, Sit, and Stream This Week Ft. Tyler Warren

The tight end has been consistently one of the most unpredictable positions in fantasy. They are either winning a matchup or putting up 3 points when their QB has over 300 yards. As we head into the last few weeks of the fantasy regular season, every point is going to matter. If managers can find something stable at tight end, it could be the factor that gets them into the playoffs. Here are the top start, sit, and stream for tight ends in Week 9.

    Start ‘Em

    Tyler Warren (Colts)

Warren had his first slower week of the season in Week 8 after previously scoring over 14 for four straight weeks. Daniel Jones and the Colts’ offense are still rolling, so expect Week 9 to be a bounce back spot for Warren. The Steelers have allowed the second-most fantasy points to tight ends. Warren should feast and get back his usual numbers in Week 9 making him a must start.

    Oronde Gasden II (Chargers)

Gasden has truly come out of nowhere and been one of the best waiver wire pickups this year. Justin Herbert seems to be connecting well with his tight ends, and the matchup this week is against the lowly Tennessee Titans. The Titans have struggled against TEs this year, and Gadsden should have another great day.

    Sam Laporta (Lions)

Laporta is definitely not the same threat in fantasy that we saw last year, but he faces a great matchup this week. The Vikings have allowed double-digits to tight ends in 3 out of the last 4 games. With this game indicating a high-scoring matchup, Laporta should have a nice bounce-back week.

    Sit ‘Em

    Dalton Schultz (Texans)

The Texans’ offense has been a hard watch this year, and Schultz has been no different. He has only broken out of single digits in one game this year, and playing the Broncos certainly won’t help. Last week, Jake Ferguson was shut out against a pass defense that has been great all year. Not the time for Schultz to get hot, keep him on the bench for now.

    T.J. Hockenson (Vikings)

Hockenson is another one of last year’s tight ends who haven’t been able to pan out. Quarterback changes have definitely affected his production, and J.J. McCarthy hasn’t gotten enough reps with his veteran tight ends. The Lions’ defense has picked it up as of late, making this a bad week to start Hockenson.

    Stream ‘Em

    Theo Johnson (Giants)

The Giants seem to be finding new players to involve every week, and Johnson looks like an interesting option. Johnson has gotten more and more targets recently, and the 49ers’ defense has injuries everywhere. Johnson provides relative safety with a high ceiling for Week 9.

    Colton Loveland (Bears)

Loveland had 5 targets last week with Cole Kmet out. The Bengals match up terribly against tight ends, and Loveland is an interesting target. If Kmet doesn’t play in Week 9, Loveland can be an add and start.

    Bottom Line

Week 9 will be all about which managers can strategize the best to get quality wins for the playoffs. If a certain matchup can get them an advantage, it could be the difference between winning and losing. The tight end spot on the roster is one of the hardest ones to predict, but Week 9 brings plenty of matchups and opportunities that could deliver huge fantasy performances.
