“The Worst GM of the Century Is Gone”: Dolphins Fans Erupt After Team Parts Ways With Chris Grier

Chris Grier’s long journey with the Miami Dolphins has officially come to an end. After spending nearly 25 years with the organization, the franchise announced that it has mutually parted ways with its general manager.

Grier joined Miami in 2000 as a college scout and worked his way up through multiple front-office roles, including assistant director of scouting and director of college scouting, before taking over as GM in 2016.

During his time leading the front office, Grier oversaw multiple coaching changes, several rebuilds, and a complete roster overhaul. Despite flashes of success, the team never took the next step during his tenure as GM.

The decision to part ways with the organization sparked a wave of fan reactions online, with many celebrating the move as long overdue.

“The worst GM of the century is gone.  Congrats Dolphins fans.  A decade of hell as GM was more than any non rival franchise deserves,” a fan wrote.

“Huge change that is long overdue. Grier had many opportunities. He had some positive moments. But all told, his tenure did not result in sustained success or even a playoff win. But he’s a good man — best of luck to him moving forward,” a fan wrote.

“I HAVE GOT MY JOY BACK,” a fan celebrated the decision.

“Dolphins fans seeing this,” DraftKings wrote.

“The first has fallen,” DraftKings predicted a domino effect.

“Long overdue. Dude has some huge hits, but he’s too hot or cold. Never found any gems late in the draft and too many 1st/2nd round busts,” a fan wrote.

For some supporters, Grier’s exit represents a chance for a true fresh start after years of inconsistency, draft misses, and stalled progress. Miami will now begin its search for a new general manager to steer the franchise forward.

    Darren Waller Injury Update

Tight end Darren Waller, who returned to the NFL this season after briefly retiring, suffered a pectoral injury in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns. The veteran tight end left the game in the first half and did not return.

Tests later revealed it was a strain rather than a full tear, but the team opted for caution and placed him on injured reserve on October 22. The move ensures Waller will miss at least four games. Fortunately for Miami, the injury does not require surgery.

Before the injury, Waller was one of Miami’s most productive red-zone targets. He had 10 catches for 117 yards and four touchdowns in his first few games, showing strong chemistry with Tua Tagovailoa. In his absence, the Dolphins promoted Greg Dulcich from the practice squad to fill the gap.

While the injury is a setback, there is optimism that Waller could return before the end of the season. Miami will need his experience and playmaking ability as they push through a difficult stretch.
