The Cleveland Browns’ quarterback situation has been one of the biggest talking points of the season. The frustration boiled over again during the matchup against the Baltimore Ravens during the weekend. Veteran Joe Flacco got the start, but his first-half performance left much to be desired.

The offense looked sluggish from the opening snap, with protection breaking down and Flacco struggling to find consistency. He missed on several key throws, turned the ball over, and failed to get the offense into any real rhythm.

Flacco’s struggles only amplified the ongoing drama surrounding Cleveland’s quarterback room. The team entered the season with questions about stability under center, and drafting Shedeur Sanders added another layer of intrigue.

Sanders, though still developing at the NFL level, has generated excitement with his college pedigree and potential. Despite that, the Browns have kept him on the sidelines, opting for the experienced Flacco and Dillon Gabriel in the backup role.

The first half against Baltimore reignited debates among fans. Many felt Flacco’s performance was a clear sign that changes needed to be made, with Sanders’ name surfacing repeatedly as the possible solution.

“The Browns need Shedeur Sanders,” a fan WROTE.

“if we’re gonna be throwing dumb a*s picks bench Flacco and let the rooks play!! AB’s draft class has been ballin anyway! #DawgPound,” a fan wrote.

“Joe Flacco is not it. Bench him and start anybody else guys been doing the same sh*t in a time loop,” a fan wrote.

“Bench Flacco for the love of God. If the offense is gonna suck at least let Gabriel get some action,” a fan wrote.

“Bench Flacco I mean this season clearly lost,” a fan wrote.

Cleveland has been searching for long-term stability at quarterback for years. Every misstep by Flacco only intensifies the calls for Sanders to get his chance. With the Browns’ offense in disarray, the pressure on the coaching staff to reconsider their approach is growing louder.

Shedeur Sanders Asked the Ravens Not to Draft Him

Months leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders was a highly touted prospect, who many analysts believed would be a first-round pick. He ended up slipping to the fifth round and was drafted by the Browns as their 144th pick.

Sanders’ draft saga was a highly talked-about event for football fans. Recently, ESPN insider Adam Schefter added another twist to it. Schefter reported that during the draft, Sanders asked the Ravens not to draft him because of Lamar Jackson.

“Sanders knew that Jackson, a two-time MVP and one of the top players in the league, was not going to be losing his job as Baltimore’s starting quarterback anytime soon,” Schefter explained.

The message was conveyed to the Ravens, and they decided not to bring Sanders in. His logic was that he wanted to go to a place where he would get a chance to play sooner. So far, the Browns haven’t given him what he was looking for either.
