Houston Texans wide receiver Braxton Berrios and influencer Alix Earle are no longer a thing. Earle confirmed the breakup rumors through a video on social media on Dec. 13.
In the meantime, Earle is enjoying her downtime in Puerto Rico with her friends. In one image, the group is holding a lemon drink and posing candidly while Earle took a selfie. She wrote:
“Casa Kahuna.”
In another drink, Earle shared a photo from her stomach as she relaxed under the sun on a recliner and had a lemon tea. She was wearing a blue bikini.
Earle previously shared tropical getaway photos from destinations like Ibiza and Turks and Caicos on Instagram.
Alix Earle and Braxton Berrios came across each other at a party in Miami in February 2023. From March 2023, they started dating, but they confirmed their romance after they made their red-carpet debut together at the 2023 ESPY Awards in July 2023. Moreove,r in Nov. 2023, Earle confirmed the dating rumors on her podcast.
They celebrated their first anniversary in November 2024 as the influencer shared heartfelt photos and called the receiver her “best friend.”
What Happened Between Alix Earle and Braxton Berrios?
Earlier this year, Alix Earle and Braxton Berrios moved in together in Miami. However, Berrios signed with the Texans in March. Because of this, the couple spent most of the year away from each other as they endured the difficulties of long distance relationship.
While Berrios prepared for the NFL season, Earle competed on Season 34 of Dancing With The Stars and finished as a runner-up. Notably, because of his football schedule, Berrios couldn’t attend the reality show’s finale.
Now, two days ago, Earle announced their breakup. She spoke about long-distance challenges and diverging life paths as the reason behind their mutual breakup.
“It’s just been really hard to process in general, and I think why I’ve been scared to say something is because I feel like it just makes it more real,” Earle said in the video. “Braxton and I are no longer together. We have been doing long distance since basically June and we haven’t gotten to see each other that often.”
“I think that was a scary thing for me to realize because it meant us not being in the same place,” she continued. “A part of me just also really wants to be focusing on myself right now and I just feel like I can’t be what Braxton needs. I want him to have someone with him 24/7 who can support him and be there for him — and he wasn’t really expecting that of me, I think it was more a me thing — but I constantly felt guilty.”
Now, the two look forward to focusing on their professional careers.
