Pittsburgh Steelers veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers exited late in the first half of the 34-12 win against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. The quarterback suffered a wrist injury on his left hand and is scheduled to undergo some tests.
In his absence, the Steelers put backup quarterback Mason Rudolph in the field. Rudolph did fine, completing 12 of 16 passes for 127 yards and one touchdown. However, fans want to know if Rodgers will play Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.
Will Aaron Rodgers Play on Sunday?
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Rodgers’ availability for Sunday’s game will largely depend on whether he can stay healthy through the week and in practice sessions. Right now, the probability of the veteran quarterback suiting up is 50-50.
For Aaron Rodgers, who has tests today, whether he’s able to play Sunday will be determined by if he can injure himself further and if he can grip a football. He was described as 50-50 for Sunday.

In his previous tweet, Rapoport revealed that Rodgers suffered a fracture in his left wrist after he went down throwing a pass in the endzone. He was hit hard by the Bengals’ offensive line and was immediately seen grabbing his hand before exiting the game.
During his recent media appearance, Ian Rapoport shared a deep dive into Rodgers’ injury and his optimism to turn up for Sunday’s game.
“Aaron Rodgers does have a tiny fracture in his left wrist, that is what the X-ray at the stadium revealed yesterday,” Rapoport said. “The reason why he’s going to have more tests, after you mentioned a player landed on his wrist, is because it was torqued in a way where there was just too much pressure and a bone ended up breaking. Aaron Rodgers, to my understanding, has told people close to him that he does not want to miss a game. He is pushing to play in this game.
“I know it seems crazy because he broke a bone in his wrist, but it is his left wrist. If he’s able to grip and if he’s able to receive the ball on the snap, it is actually possible that Rodgers could play this weekend. I had someone tell me that he was essentially 50-50 to play this week. So it sounds bad, but Aaron Rodgers does want to play and is trying to see how he can do it for the Steelers.”
In the 34-12 win over the Bengals, Rodgers completed 9 of 15 passes for 116 yards and one touchdown before exiting the game. During this week, the Steelers will closely monitor their star quarterback for any swelling or discomfort in the wrist during practice sessions.
