WATCH: Victor Wembanyama Consoles Carter Bryant Who Fights Tears After Spurs HC Schools Him Mid-Game

As Victor Wembanyama and his Spurs squad are starting to find out, winning the Western Conference Finals is no easy feat, and it can take an emotional as well as a physical toll. Young as Wembanyama is, he took the lead as he helped a Spurs rookie deal with the pressue of the playoffs.

A viral clip from Game 4 shows the two-time All-Star walking up to Carter Bryant, who’d just been schooled by head coach Mitch Johnson after he committed a turnover midway through the game. Bryant, who looks to be on the verge of tears, gets a friendly tap on the chest and some words of counsel from Wembanyama.

22-year-olds don’t typically shoulder an enormous leadership role in the NBA, but in the case of Victor Wembanyama, he has the responsibility of setting the tone as the Spurs’ main man.

Aside from perking up his teammates on the sidelines, Wembanyama led the charge by putting in monster numbers once again. In the Spurs’ 103-82 win over the Thunder Sunday night, Wemby had 33 points on 50.0% FG shooting, along with eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and three blocks.

With Wembanyama at the forefront on both ends of the floor, the Spurs were able to tie up the series at two wins apiece. Now that the series will shift back to Oklahoma City, the 7-foor-4 big man will have to sustain his winning ways in order to lift up his teammates in more ways than one.

“Everything You Hear Is True”: De’Aaron Fox Comments on Victor Wembanyama’s Discipline During Pre-Game Preps

After the Spurs sealed their Game 4 victory, De’Aaron Fox shed more light on Victor Wembanyama’s discipline in pre-grame preparations.

“Everything you hear about Victor is true. He don’t wanna see blue light after 9 o’clock…When we have games end close to midnight, he comes to the locker room with blue light glasses on.”

Though Fox is the seasoned veteran, he is clearly impressed with what he sees from his prodigy of a teammate.
