Jalen Green Injured: Suns Star Limps Off in First Quarter Against Mavericks Tonight

Phoenix Suns star Jalen Green injured himself on Wednesday night against the Dallas Mavericks. It was a non-contact injury as Green limped off the floor in the first quarter, showing discomfort in his right leg. Earlier this season, Green dealt with a hamstring strain on the same leg.

It forced him to miss a large chunk of his 2025-26 season between October and February. Green has appeared in 31 games for Phoenix in his franchise debut season. Here’s the clip of Green leaving the floor:

Green hasn’t had as much trouble with injuries since March. The Suns were down 11-10 when Green left with 8:10 left in the first. He didn’t return the rest of the way. Green attempted two shots and missed both. His only box score contribution included a rebound.

The Suns fared decently in his absence, taking a 61-53 lead after the first half. Devin Booker scored 19 points, while Royce O’Neale had 14 off the bench. Collin Gillespie was a beneficiary of Green’s absence as he played 16 first-half minutes, scoring four points on 1 of 5 shots.

Suns officially list Jalen Green as questionable to return

The Suns listed Jalen Green as questionable to return on Wednesday. Green didn’t start the second half. The shooting guard warmed up at halftime before heading back to the locker room. Collin Gillespie replaced Green in the lineup to share the backcourt with Devin Booker.

The Suns said that Green had injured his right knee. That’s fortunate news for the team, as he hasn’t aggravated the hamstring strain again. With Green listed as questionable, even if he doesn’t return for this clash, the former No. 2 pick could be ready as soon as Phoenix’s next game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.

The Suns have locked up a play-in tournament spot. They will face the LA Clippers in the seven-seed game. If Phoenix loses, it will battle for the eighth seed against the Portland Trail Blazers or Golden State Warriors.

If the Suns advance in the first play-in game, they will face Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs in the first round. Having Jalen Green could be critical given his offensive gravity. While he hasn’t matched his production and efficiency from last season, Green remains an essential piece to the Suns’ offense.
