Is Dwight Howard Gay? Here’s What Former NBA Center Said About His Sexuality After Stephen Harper Case

Former NBA superstar Dwight Howard has become a polarizing figure in the last few years, owing to questions about his sexuality and controversies about his personal life. Past incidents have also led to many asking if Howard is gay.

No, Howard has not publicly identified as gay or bisexual. But there have been incidents in the past that have led to many doubts about his sexual preferences. The first of these incidents took place in 2015 when Howard made headlines after grabbing his Houston Rockets teammate, Isaiah Canaan’s crotch.

Howard was also accused of sexually assaulting Stephen Harper. The former NBA center denied the allegation and said the encounter that took place between the two men was consensual. When asked about his sexuality, he said the following:

“That ain’t nobody’s business where I put my s*** in.”

A statement released by Howard’s attorneys amid the allegations states that the accusation was made for profit.

“What was a private consensual encounter was made public for profit and Mr. Howard looks forward to bringing the truth to light in a court of law,” Howard’s attorneys told ESPN.

Dwight Howard’s wife, Amy Luciani, claims their daughter was taken away by Child Protection Services

On March 6, Dwight Howard’s wife, Amy Luciani, made a series of disturbing allegations against the NBA center, alleging that he is addicted to cocaine.

She also said that their home life was in peril as Child Protection Services had visited their house three times in the past two months, with one of those visits ending with their daughter being taken away.

“My Husband put himself in a position that resulted in CPS being called to our house 3X in less than two months but three days ago, they were called again and they left with our daughter,” Luciani said. “I have personally had to call the police on him 3 times in a barely 14 months marriage. Everyone around me told me you made a commitment through sickness or health and that played with my mind after I filed for divorce at 6 months. I came back because honestly I tried to listen to the married people around me who said it was too soon to walk away.”

Luciani’s allegations have led to significant criticism for the former Defensive Player of the Year on social media. Dwight Howard has yet to comment on the situation in public.
