Who Is Nico Harrison’s Wife? A Look at the Former Mavericks GM’s Family Life

Dallas Mavericks GM Nico Harrison has just been fired from his job. In all fairness, fans had seen it coming a long time after some of his moves sent shockwaves through the league. The most notable one of them, which fans at Dallas might even regard ‘diabolical’ was Luka Doncic‘s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Once considered an invaluable asset to the Mavericks, Doncic’s trade was nothing less than utter surprise and might have been one of the biggest catalysts for Harrison to lose his role.

It’s not just the Doncic trade that made fans and owners lose faith in the veteran NBA executive. Harrison failed to rebuild the Mavericks around Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, and Klay Thompson, with all of these veterans seemingly not adding up to the star expectations that they carry.

Amidst all of this, some fans might be wondering what life for Harrison beyond the NBA sidelines and the court. So, here’s everything you need to know about who Nico Harrison’s wife is and about his other family members.

    Who is Nico Harrison’s wife?

Nico Harrison’s wife is Darlise Blount Harrison. She is a producer for ABC News and BET. She has an Instagram account with 831 followers; however, it is private. The couple have two daughters, Noelle and Nia Harrison. After the Luka Doncic trade, Nico Harrison was subjected to much hate and vitriol, which sort of spilt over to his family as well. And the victims of all of these were his family, especially his daughter in high school.

This issue was addressed by several veterans in the league, including former Lakers star Lou Williams. In an episode of the Run It Back podcast, Williams addressed Harrison’s daughter facing all sorts of bullying in high school due to her father’s professional actions.

“Leave that young lady alone. She had nothing to do with that,” Williams said.

And besides, the aftermath of the trade deal was particularly harsh for the Harrison family. ESPN insider Ramona Shelburne confirmed that Nico Harrison defended his actions, citing that it was all to improve the team. All of the unscathed attacks on Harrison’s family weren’t warranted at all. In an appearance on The Tim Jackson Show, Shelburne explained the situation like this:

“It’s very uncomfortable for him right now and his family. You know I don’t condone anybody making threats against people’s families no matter how unpopular a decision is, that’s not right…”

Shelburne used an example from Game of Thrones, adding, “Remember one of the opening scenes? It’s like if you decide you’re gonna if you’re gonna send someone to death you swing the sword yourself don’t make somebody else do it.”

What lies in Nico Harrison’s future? Only time can tell. For now, this current move of his firing seemed like a long time coming, especially since his lack of success after moving Luka Doncic from the team.
