Dan Hurley is one of the most successful coaches in college basketball after winning back-to-back national championships with the UConn Huskies. Although Hurley is one of the best coaches in the country, it wouldn’t be possible without his wife, Andrea Hurley.
Who is Dan Hurley’s Wife?
Andrea and Dan met when they were both students at Seton Hall University. In a recent interview, Dan said, “It’s like, by far, the best thing that happened to me at Seton Hall.” Not too long after that, in 1997, the two were married on Aug 29 in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. Coincidentally, it fell on the same day as Dan’s parents’ anniversary.
In 2023, the two celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary; Andrea posted a commemorative post on Instagram.

Just under two years after the two tied the knot, they had their first son, Danny, on July 1, 1999. Three years later, Dan and Andrea welcomed their second son, Andrew, to the family.
When the two sons were in high school, their father coached them at St. Benedict in Newark, New Jersey. Dan said, “I wanted to be a parent who gave them love and time, to set an example for them. I did the Little League games, the Pop Warner, the CYO matchups. That all meant something to me.”
Danny attended his parents’ alma mater, Seton Hall, while Andrew went to UConn, where he continued his basketball career under his father’s coaching.
Andrea did not grow up a basketball fan but will root for UConn and has gotten attached to the sport ever since Dan became head coach of the team. “When you figure out how you could help your other half get better at what he does, and you see it come back to you,”
She added that she has even gotten attached to the players and feels like they are part of her family. “I always say it just snags a little piece of my heart. His heart. I love these kids and the coaches and the coaches’ families so much that I don’t want this to end. Like you’re not going to get this time back.”
