The Duke Blue Devils and their fans recently received some good news regarding guard Tyrese Proctor, who injured his knee in the team’s win over Miami on Tuesday, Feb. 25.

A Promising Update for Tyrese Proctor
According to Melissa Proctor, Tyrese’s, her son is OK after suffering what looked like a scary knee injury. Melissa Proctor took to social media on Thursday to give a positive update on her son.
“Thanks to everyone who has reached out…Thankfully he has no breaks or ligament damage, just bone bruising.”
Thanks to everyone who has reached out after hearing Tyrese got injured. Thankfully he has no breaks or ligament damage, just bone bruising. I know he’ll tackle this like he does everything, focusing on rehab so he can be back on the court with his team really soon. 💙💙 pic.twitter.com/25M5eH2BlO

If the update from his mother is any indication, it looks like Proctor will return this season.
A native of Australia, the junior guard has proven to be one of Jon Scheyer’s best players over the last few years.
He is currently averaging 11.4 points per game and is shooting 44.8% from three-point range. If he can return in a healthy capacity, the No. 2-ranked Blue Devils could have a great chance to win the national title this year.
Can Duke Win a National Title?
Losing Proctor for a couple of games could be a bummer for Duke fans, if that is indeed the case. But still, this team is one of the elite teams in college basketball, which is not a surprise at all.
They have lost just one game since before the start of December. It also has to be noted that they beat the top team in the country in Auburn earlier in the season.
Who’s In, Who’s Out? Latest NCAA Tournament Projections Ahead of March Madness
Thanks to the outstanding play of future NBA man Cooper Flagg, this team is primed for a deep run in both the ACC and NCAA Tournaments. Coming off a 37-point victory over Miami, the Blue Devils are flying high at the right time of the year.
Next up on the schedule, Duke will face Florida State, Wake Forest, and North Carolina to close up the regular season before ACC Tournament play begins. The sky appears to be the limit for Scheyer and Co., especially if Proctor can come back healthy after the bump in the road with his knee.
