While players and coaches get all of the fame in sports, team managers deserve some of that fame, too.
At McNeese State, Amir Khan is the team manager, and he is one of the best in the business.

Will Wade Chats About Amir Khan
While speaking recently with college basketball insider Jon Rothstein, McNeese State head coach Will Wade talked about the importance of Khan and how great of a team manager he is.
Will Wade has made national headlines this season at McNeese, but so has one of his managers.
Who is Amir Khan?

“He’s incredible…He’s a phenomenal kid…Our players love Amir…He KNOWS everything about everything…It’s been great just to see him get the recognition.” In sports, every member of the team plays an integral part in the program or organization.
Team managers are the ones who do the dirty work and put plenty of hours in to make sure that the players and coaches are in a great position to be successful.
Managers like Khan deserve a ton of respect for what they do each and every day.
McNeese State to the NCAA Tournament
Wade’s team will be headed to the NCAA Tournament this season after a tremendous showing in the regular season and in the conference tournament.
The Cowboys finished the regular season with an overall record of 27-6 (19-1 Southland).
Now, the Southland Conference champions, the team is preparing for a possible Cinderella run in the NCAA Tournament.
In their only two matchups with major-conference teams this season, McNeese State lost to the Alabama Crimson Tide by just eight points and the Mississippi State Bulldogs by three points. For context, both games were on the road.
As a mid-major school, it will be interesting to see how teams approach playing the Cowboys in the tournament with their season on the line.
Will they know what to expect when the game tips off? Will they play scared or free? Will they be able to account for the Cowboys’ best scorer in point guard, Javohn Garcia?
