    Upsets That Shocked The Nation

McNeese Cowboys’ Historic Triumph Over Clemson

The 12th-seeded McNeese Cowboys stunned the basketball world by defeating 5th-seeded Clemson 69-67, marking McNeese’s first-ever NCAA tournament victory. Brandon Murray’s 21 points off the bench proved decisive, while Quadir Copeland added 16 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Their defense held Clemson to 13 first-half points, a tournament low for the Tigers.

McNeese shot 48.1% from the field compared to Clemson’s 39.5% and outscored them 32-12 in bench points. They also forced 15 turnovers while committing just eight, converting those into 18 points off turnovers, which was crucial in securing their victory.

    Bulldogs Tame Tigers

The 11th-seeded Drake Bulldogs pulled off a significant upset by defeating 6th-seeded Missouri 67-57. Bennett Stirtz led with 18 points, shooting seven of 12 from the field, while Tavion Banks added 14 points and six rebounds. Drake’s three-point shooting was particularly impressive as they knocked down 10 of 23 (43.5%) from beyond the arc compared to Missouri’s five of 20 (25%).

They dominated the rebounding battle 38-30, limiting Missouri’s second-chance opportunities. Their disciplined defensive execution held Missouri to just 36.2% shooting. Forcing 11 turnovers and maintaining control of the game’s tempo from start to finish, Drake never allowed Missouri to find its rhythm.

    Arkansas Razorbacks Edge Past Kansas
