Saint Mary’s guard Jordan Ross has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal. The 6-foot-3 sophomore averaged 8.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game while shooting 37.4% from three in 2024–25.
He started every game for the Gaels and was a key player in their NCAA Tournament run, scoring 15 points in a Round of 64 victory over Vanderbilt.

Best Jordan Ross Landing Spots
Arizona Wildcats
Arizona is always looking for high-IQ guards who can run an up-tempo offense. With starting point guard Kylan Boswell’s departure, the Wildcats are looking for a senior floor leader who can pass, defend, and make open shots.
Ross’s authority and ability to control pace would be ideal for Tommy Lloyd’s free-flowing offensive system. Arizona has the tools to make another long NCAA Tournament run, and a player like Ross could stabilize a young and talented squad.
UCLA Bruins
The Bruins are coming off a transitional year, and head coach Mick Cronin hopes to reestablish the program’s identity of strength, tenacity, and top defense. Ross thrives in such a type of culture. He isn’t spectacular, but he’s dependable, makes smart reads, and is an excellent on-ball defender.
With guard depth likely dwindling due to transfers and early departures, Ross could serve as a stand-in in the backcourt, adding experience to a young team and helping to tighten up perimeter defense.
Texas Longhorns
Texas has been aggressive in the transfer portal under Rodney Terry, and the Longhorns require backcourt experience following Tyrese Hunter’s departure. The Big 12 is the nation’s most athletic and competitive conference, and Ross’s consistent presence could be just what Texas needs to keep up.
He won’t have to shoulder the scoring load, but he could be a secondary playmaker and defensive stalwart who excels in close games.
Gonzaga Bulldogs
A move to Gonzaga would keep Ross in the West Coast Conference, where he has already established himself. The Bulldogs are ready to reload after a successful season, and they could use a seasoned guard who knows WCC competition.
Mark Few endorses experienced players who don’t turn the ball over and can make open shots, Ross ticks all of those boxes. Gonzaga could offer him the opportunity to thrive on a larger stage while playing a similar role.

Michigan State Spartans
Tom Izzo is notorious for getting the most out of tough, selfless blue-collar athletes, and Jordan Ross fits the bill well. The Spartans generally rely on scrappy, high-IQ guards who don’t need to control the ball to impact the game.
MSU needs someone to assist in managing the attack while also establishing the defensive tone. Ross’s leadership and two-way ability could make him a key element of the Spartans’ rotation.
Jordan Ross isn’t widely recognized just yet, but he’s a versatile, experienced, and winning guard, the type of athlete who can quickly boost a high-major backcourt.
With a solid showing in the 2025 NCAA Tournament and a full season of starts under his belt, Ross is likely to receive major interest throughout the Power 6.
