Top Five Transfer Portal Landing Spots for Miami Guard Jalil Bethea

    Villanova

While head coach Kyle Neptune was sent packing after an underwhelming season, whoever takes the job in Philadelphia will have their eyes set on landing Bethea. The talented guard hails from Philadelphia and could head back closer to home with the Wildcats.

    Pittsburgh

If Bethea wants to head back to Pennsylvania, he could opt for the Panthers, who finished 9th in the ACC this year. With the departure of seniors Ishmael Leggett and Damian Dunn, Pitt will be looking for a guard to pair with star Jaland Lowe.

    St. John’s

Located in the northeast corridor, the Johnnies are just a four-hour drive from Bethea’s hometown. Head coach Rick Pitino’s team should be looking to reload after a successful 2024 season, with three of their top four guards set to depart due to eligibility and RJ Luis Jr. potentially headed for the NBA. They could look to the talented Bethea as an option.

    Kansas

Bethea considered offers from Kansas before committing to Miami and could still opt to head to Lawrence. Coach Bill Self and the Jayhawks will be active in the portal for backcourt players with the departures of senior guards Zeke Mayo and Dajuan Harris Jr.

    Houston

With all top three of their guards, either juniors or seniors, including superstar L.J. Cryer, Bethea could look toward the Cougars as a top team that could give him future playing time.
