Jaylen Curry entered the transfer portal after a successful sophomore year at UMass.
The 6’ guard from Charlotte, North Carolina, was second on the team in points with 13.3 per game and led the team in assists, averaging 3.9 per game. He also added 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game, starring in a 91-88 win over Rhode Island, where he put up a season-high 22 points and eight assists.

While they share a last name and hometown, the two Curry’s are unrelated.
Jaylen was born to Lavonte Jackson and Brittany Curry and has three siblings, Kayla Jackson, Lavonte Jackson Jr., and Kaden McKoy
After a wildly successful High School career, the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie selection in 2023-24 played in all 30 games for the Minutemen as a freshman.
Curry was ranked as a three-star prospect and top-140 recruit by 247 sports coming out of Calvary Christian Academy in Florida (2022-23), and was heavily recruited as a top-20 point guard nationally, and No. 12 recruit in all of Florida.
In 2021-22 at Julius L. Chambers, Curry earned Queen City 3A/4A All-Conference and all-district honors, averaging 14.8 points, 10.2 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.9 steals per game for the Cougars.
Before that, Curry averaged 11.4 points, 5.0 assists, 2.7 rebounds,s, and 2.9 steals in 29 starts at Combine Academy his sophomore year and helped Team USA to a 2021 FIBA Americas U16 Championship. At the Americas, Curry averaged 8.8 points, 5.7 assists, and 3.8 steals per game as they coasted to a 6-0 record.
