It is very common for two or more family members to dabble in sports, but is Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love related to the Arizona Wildcats’ superstar guard?
Historically, there have been numerous cases of multiple family members playing the same sports. We have the Manning and Sanders family in the football world, The Curry family in basketball, The Williams family in Tennis, and the Griffey family in baseball. We’ve also had members of the same family playing different sports. But are these two athletes related?

Are Caleb Love and Jordan Love Brothers?
With both athletes making waves in college football and the NFL, respectively, questions are being asked about their connection because they share the same last name. Some think they’re brothers, while some think they might be cousins.
The answer to everybody’s question is no, they’re not related in any way. The last name is just a coincidence.
Jordan Love, a quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, is from Bakersfield, California. He attended Utah State and was drafted by the Packers in the 2020 NFL draft.
Caleb Love, on the other hand, is a college basketball player from St. Louis, Missouri. He plays guard for the Arizona Wildcats and previously played for North Carolina.
Caleb Love’s College Career
Love is a 6’4″ combo guard known for his athleticism, quickness, and ability to score at all three levels. He’s in his final year of college football eligibility and is currently at Arizona.
Before transferring to Tuscon, though, Love played three years of basketball for North Carolina. 247Sports ranked him the No. 2 point guard and No. 7 player overall in the 2020 class. He committed to North Carolina in 2019 over Louisville, Missouri, and Kansas, among others.
In his freshman year, Love was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team after averaging 10.5 points per game and 3.5 assists per game. He contemplated leaving after the head coach left, but he ultimately decided to stay for his sophomore year.
In his sophomore year, he averaged 15.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game on the season en route to UNC’s run to the national championship game. He scored a career-high 30 points in the Sweet 16 against UCLA and then dropped 28 against Duke in the final four. UNC ultimately lost the final to Kansas.

Love started 32 of 33 games for UNC in his junior season, but the Tar Heels underperformed and fell short of expectations set from the previous season. Love entered the transfer portal at the end of the season.
He committed to the Arizona Wildcats in May 2023 before putting up a season in which he won the Pac-12 Player of the Year Award and led the Cats to the NCAA Tournament, where they lost to Clemson in the Sweet 16.
Love withdrew from the 2024 NBA Draft and returned to Arizona for his graduate season. This year, he averaged 17.2 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game and 3.4 assists per game.
The Wildcats lost to Love’s hated rival, Duke, in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
