Cooper Flagg has been arguably the best player in the country due to his talent and a variety of developed skills, including his effort, according to North Carolina’s Hubert Davis.

UNC HC Hubert Davis Discloses What He Believes Is Duke Phenom Cooper Flagg’s Best Skill
Ahead of the Tar Heels hosting the second-ranked Blue Devils on Saturday, March 8, Davis answered questions regarding Flagg.
“Probably the thing that he does best … is he plays hard. He’s a tough kid and he’s always playing at max pace on both ends of the floor,” Davis said. “And that is a talent to be able to play that hard all the time. And that’s something that Cooper Flagg does.”
Davis has already had a first-hand view of Flagg this season when the Blue Devils defeated the Tar Heels 87-70 at home. In that game, Flagg showed the effort that Davis mentioned with numerous deflections and hustle plays. His three steals were a game-high, while his two blocked shots led the Blue Devils.
One of the main reasons Flagg has endeared himself so quickly with the Duke faithful is exactly what Davis said: he plays extremely hard and with max effort all the time. In his final game at Cameron Indoor on Monday, Mar. 3, the student section broke into “One more year!” chants as the freshman checked out for likely his final time at home.

The Maine native never seems to play like many star players often do, as if they shouldn’t put their bodies on the line.
If anything, Flagg toes the line of recklessness in terms of where he puts his body. His blocks are often highlight-reel worthy, displaying his great athleticism and vertical ability.
He does gamble for steals at times, but when he’s able to reel the ball in, it results in run-out dunks on the other end.

Davis hit it right on the head; the Tar Heels will have their hands full with the hard-playing Flagg as he heads into his final regular-season game with the Blue Devils.
