Grant Nelson has made his plans to enter the NBA in the next draft known. As a freshman at Devils Lake High School, Nelson averaged 16.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 5.1 blocks per game.
The 23-year-old North Dakota Native features in 27 games for North Dakota State University(NDSU), with an average of 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. His stats improved as he progressed through his sophomore and junior seasons.
He averaged 17.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game as a junior at NDSU, after which he transferred to Alabama for his senior year.
As a forward player at Alabama, he averaged 11.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Now in his senior year, this is his final season of college eligibility, making him draft-eligible for the upcoming NBA Draft.
The competitiveness, skill development and exposure the NBA brings are some reasons Nelson is aiming to make the jump. Having played in the NCAA, the NBA is the next logical step for the Alabama Forward.
