College Basketball Fans Speculate on Cooper Flagg’s Future
ESPN’s Instagram post on Monday showed Flagg and his father, Ralph, making the “run it back” hand gesture during Duke’s game against Wake Forest.
“Should Cooper Flagg play one more year for Duke?” The post asked.
The gesture fueled speculations that the freshman superstar would return for another season with the Blue Devils despite being ranked the No. 1 prospect for the 2025 NBA Draft. Fans trooped to the comment section to react to the debate on whether he should stay back in college basketball or go to the NBA.
“Going to miss out on 400 million if he stay another year 🤦🏻♂️,” a fan wrote.

Cooper Flagg Makes History in Blowout Win Over Wake Forest
Flagg and the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils demolished the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in a 93-60 victory at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham. Flagg shined in what could be his last home game for Duke, scoring 28 points and adding eight rebounds and seven assists in 34 minutes. He also recorded three blocks and two steals.
Duke’s dominance on the court made it the fourth win in a row, making it the longest winning streak by 30-plus points over major conference opponents by any Division I men’s basketball team, according to OptaStats.

The streak began in a 110-67 takedown of the Big Ten’s Illinois Fighting Illini on Feb. 22, followed by a 97-60 victory over the Miami Hurricanes on Feb. 25 and a 100-65 dominant win over Florida State on March 1.
Next, the Blue Devils have enough time to rest and prepare for a road test against the North Carolina Tar Heels at Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill on Saturday.
