Fans Call for Increased NIL After Oklahoma’s Duke Miles Loses Teeth Against Mississippi State

The moment was captured in a video on X (formerly Twitter), which showed trainers attending to the senior guard, who was down on the floor.

“Duke Miles lost a couple teeth diving for the loose ball,” the post was captioned.

College hoop fans shared their reactions in the comment section.

“Up his NIL deal right now,” a fan wrote.

“This dude skipped neck day way too many times. He skipped arm, leg, and torso days too. Folks, never fall to the ground teeth first,” another fan wrote.

“That takes leaving it out on the floor to a whole new level,” a fan commented.

Here are other reactions from fans:

“Love the heart from guys like this. Things happen unfortunately. It’s a fight for the ball I know but it does appear he was shoved to the floor at the end,” a fan commented.

“Oh my gosh this is terrible,” another fan commented.

“Absolutely crazy! SO tough,” a fan wrote.

OU Coach Porter Moser Gives Update on Miles’ Teeth Injury

Miles lost some parts of two of his teeth and had to be taken away during Oklahoma’s 93-87 win over No. 21 Mississippi State on Saturday afternoon in Norman. OU trainer Seth Tisdale later told the Sooners radio broadcasters that the senior guard chipped two teeth.

However, OU’s head coach provided an update on Miles’ injury, stating that the Montgomery native’s teeth are not looking pretty.

“Our team dentist was in [the locker room] when I went to do radio,” OU coach Porter Moser said postgame, per CBS. “His teeth aren’t that pretty right now. He was doing fine when I left. He was just hustling, diving for a ball.”

Meanwhile, Miles came back to the game to help OU close out the win. He even made a free throw in the final minute to help seal the victory, finishing the game with three points, one rebound, and one assist.

Miles’ sacrifice helped OU to end a five-game losing streak and may motivate the Sooners to find their way back to contending for a spot in the NCAA tournament in March.
