    Duke Commit Cameron Boozer Earns Gatorade National Player of the Year for Second Time

    Cameron Boozer is a name basketball fans should start getting used to. The 6’9″ player from Florida has been a name to watch out for in the high school basketball scene, and his numbers say why.

    He averaged 22.6 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game last season and is currently the nation’s No. 2 recruit and a projected top-five pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. But before college comes around, Boozer has already decided to make history.

    Cameron Boozer Wins POTY Honors For Second Time

    Before even gracing college courts, Duke Blue Devils commit Cameron Boozer has now won Gatorade Player of the Year for a second time.

    Hoop fans who have been keeping track may already know that Boozer first won this award in 2023 when he was 15 years old. Now, two years later, the son of NBA great Carlos Boozer joins an exclusive club of two-time winners.

    Boozer stands alongside legends like LeBron James, Greg Oden, and Brandon Knight.

    But he isn’t just a star on the court. He’s got a 4.88 GPA, plays the cello, and tutors students in math. Boozer even volunteers at his local church.

    Boozer will be donning the blues and whites of the Duke Blue Devils soon. By doing so, he is following in his father. He’ll joined by his twin brother Cayden, who is also a top recruit for the upcoming season. Together, they are bringing the best of the country to Jon Scheyer’s squad.

    This is the third straight year a future Blue Devil has won the award, following Cooper Flagg in 2024. Boozer is also the fifth Duke recruit ever to take home the honor.

    Boozer’s high school career will soon be over. The McDonald’s All-American Game on April 1 will mark the transition to the next season, and there, he can showcase his skills one more time before joining Duke.
