Does Steven Ashworth have a kid? Here’s What we know

Steven Ashworth starred for the No. 9 Creighton Bluejays (25-10) as they rolled the No. 8 Louisville Cardinals (27-8) in the first round of the NCAA tournament 89-75. The Bluejays’ guard played all 40 minutes, putting up 22 points, five rebounds, and five assists while shooting 50% from beyond the arc.

What We Know About Steven Ashworth’s Son Tommy Jay Ashworth

Nine-month-old Tommy Jay might not have fully grasped the moment, as Steven would later tell the press, but his family appreciated the attention he received.

“Not quite sure if he understood the national spotlight that he had, but we made sure to document a few things for him so that when he understands it, he’ll be able to appreciate that he was the first star of March Madness,” Ashworth told reporters Friday. “It’s a cool opportunity, and it’s funny, and we had some good laughs last night, for sure.”

Ashworth, one of six siblings, Tyler, Erin, Tanner, Brandon, Cole, and Brooklyn, married his high school sweetheart, Peyton Burr, in 2021.

“I’d like everyone to meet my wife, Peyton Ashworth!” Ashworth wrote in an Instagram post.

“I’ve never had a married player,r and I have two of them on this team, (Ashworth) and Ryan Kalkbrenner,” Creighton coach Greg McDermott said. “Their leadership has been outstanding. They’ve included the rest of our team in their lives.

“So it isn’t like they all go their separate directions after practice. They’ve included our younger guys in their families as their families grow. It’s been cool. When Tommy comes to practice, he’s the most popular person with all our players in the gym.”
