‘Two Rings, Baldy’ — Dan Hurley Claps Back at Fans Who Ruthlessly Trolled Him for Hours

“F*** Dan Hurley” were the words that echoed around Omaha. With ESPN’s game predictor giving Hurley and his Huskies only a 39.6% probability of pulling off the upset against the Creighton Bluejays, the task appeared daunting.

However, after a laborious, hard-fought battle, UConn emerged victorious in a 70-66 thriller.

Dan Hurley Fires Back at Creighton Fans After UConn Win

Hurley, the head coach of the UConn Huskies, offered a heated reply to Creighton fans after their historic 70-66 victory in Omaha on Feb. 11. This was UConn’s first victory at Creighton’s CHI Health Center Arena.

What was Hurley’s response to the nasty chanting? A four-word phrase that would linger long after the chime sounded.

He waved and pointed to his fingers, screaming, “Two rings!” — referring to UConn’s consecutive NCAA championships. He also addressed a fan personally, saying, “Two rings, baldy!”

According to a recent post on X by College Basketball Report, Hurley responded after getting “F*** Dan Hurley” chants all night in Omaha with, “Bye-bye! Two rings! Two rings!”

This victory was especially significant for Hurley and the Huskies since they overcame a 14-point first-half deficit to end Creighton’s nine-game winning run. Freshman Liam McNeeley led the way with a season-high 38 points and 10 rebounds.

Hurley’s excited interaction with competing fans has been well captured. Following a defeat to Creighton in February 2024, he had a verbal interaction with fans, emphasizing the heated atmosphere he frequently encounters on the road.

The incident prompted diverse reactions on the internet. Some fans condemned Hurley’s behavior, calling it unsportsmanlike, while others defended his passionate reaction, particularly given the harsh atmosphere he faced.
