‘Not Likely’ – Fans React to Cooper Flagg Saying He Might Stay At Duke

Cooper Flagg is the talk of the college basketball world. That’s thanks to his on-court presence, his elite abilities, and for the fact that he recently stated he may indeed spurn the NBA Draft and return to Duke for his sophomore season.

And as you might have guessed, fans had split reactions to how they felt about Flagg’s statement.

What Are Fans Saying About Cooper Flagg?

First things first, we have to learn what Flagg said and why it’s newsworthy. So, to get the lay of the land, Flagg indicated in a recent interview that ‘I want to come back next year.’

Why is that newsworthy? Well, simply put, he likely would enter the NBA Draft as the top overall prospect and the likely No. 1 overall pick. Why would Flagg opt not to enter the NBA Draft and return to Duke?

Fans were left curious and quick to shoot down the idea.

‘Not likely’ one fan said after thinking it’d be crazy that Flagg would turn down a $12 million rookie contract in the NBA.

But other fans were just as quick to point out that he may have similar amenities at Duke that he would get in the NBA.

With Name, Image, Likeness playing a large role here, Flagg certainly has it made in college. He only plays 40 games, compared to at least 82 on the NBA calendar.

His NIL valuation is rumored to be around $3 million and he plays half the time that he would in the NBA.

He also gets to play for Duke, and not what apparently looks like may be the Washington Wizards, who likely hold the first overall pick.

Duke fans were quick to chime in as well, indicating how dangerous the Blue Devils may be if he were to return next year.

Whether or not Flagg meant what he said, one thing is for sure, the fans have let their voices be heard.
