    Cameron Boozer & Cayden Boozer Reach Rarified Status as High School Jerseys are Retired Before They’ve Graduated

    Cayden and Cameron Boozer guided the Columbus Explorers basketball team to four consecutive Florida high school basketball state titles. Before they resume their basketball careers at Duke University, their high school jerseys are retired.

    Cameron & Cayden Boozer Make History: High School Jerseys Retired Before Graduation

    The school’s official X/Twitter account posted photographs from the Boozer jersey retirement ceremony on Thursday afternoon.

    The caption says, “Two numbers. One legacy. “No Explorer will ever wear 12, or 2 again.” Former NBA player Carlos Boozer, Cayden, and Cameron’s father attended the jersey retirement ceremony as part of the school’s Celebration of Champions.

    The Boozer brothers have helped the Columbus Explorers win four consecutive Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 7A state championships. They razed Windermere in their final title game, winning 68–36.

    Cameron scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Cayden had 12 points, six assists, and five rebounds.

    Cameron has the credentials to argue a case for becoming the most decorated high school basketball player ever. In addition to four state championships, he was named a McDonald’s All-American and the Gatorade National Player of the Year in 2023.

    Cameron additionally led Team USA to gold medal finishes at the FIBA Americas U16 and FIBA U17 World Cups.

    Cayden, ranked 22nd in the nation by the Class of 2025 On3 Industry Rankings, finished his four-year career with 1,660 points, 467 rebounds, 702 assists, and 198 steals. His senior year stats included 13.9 points, 7.3 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game.

    Cameron and Cayden, like their father, former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, are committed to playing basketball at Duke University. Their decision to commit to the Blue Devils coincides with their father’s legacy, who was a member of Duke’s 2001 NCAA national championship team.
