According to Andy Katz’s list, Duke star forward Cooper Flagg is the best player in the tournament. The reigning ACC Player of the Year, when healthy, has the chance to guide his team to glory after helping them win the ACC in both the regular season and in the conference tournament.

Next up on the list is Auburn forward Johni Broome, who is the SEC Player of the Year this season.

The 22-year-old is currently averaging 18.9 points per game and 10.6 rebounds per game.

A double-double machine, the 6’10” Broome is a true difference-maker for head coach Bruce Pearl and Co.

Maryland forward and Big Ten Freshman of the Year Derik Queen comes in at No. 3 on Katz’s list. He is shooting nearly 53% from the field and averaging over 9.0 rebounds per game for the Terps, who could be a sneaky team in this tournament.

Texas Tech star and Big 12 Player of the Year J.T. Toppin is shooting nearly 55% from the field and is a true force in the paint on the defensive side of the ball (1.3 blocks per game).

Alabama senior guard Mark Sears was able to crack the top five on Katz’s List after having another solid year for Nate Oats and the Tide.

A year after helping his team make the Final Four, Sears is continuing to prove that he is one of the best playmakers and facilitators in the country (18.7 points per game).
