Nick Rosi, Brian Dooley, Nolan Potter, Jay Amburgey, and several other top offensive tackles from last season have left the conference. As a result, the 2024 MAC OT Rankings look quite a bit different, with some relative unknowns bringing up the rear of the list.
MAC 2024 OT Rankings
10) Cameron Golden, Kent State Golden Flashes
After serving as a reserve lineman for two years at Georgia State and his first season with the Golden Flashes, Cameron Golden started every game in 2023. It wasn’t always pretty, as he committed a few too many penalties and had some rough outings, but Golden flashed on a struggling unit.
Kent State flipped him between left and right tackle, and while that versatility is valuable, stability at one position will only improve his game in 2024.
9) Nick Reimer, Bowling Green Falcons
Nick Reimer transferred from Merrimack this offseason to fill Bowling Green’s left tackle spot after Kameren Stewart graduated. Reimer started on the blindside the last three years but took his game to new heights last season. Not only did he not allow a sack, but he rarely allowed pressure at all, keeping his QB as clean as a whistle.
8) Drew Hoth, Northern Illinois Huskies
Nolan Potter was arguably the top OT last season, so filling his shoes is a tall task. Nevertheless, Drew Hoth is ready to enter the starting lineup.

A two-time All-State selection in high school, Hoth has bided his time as a backup for the Huskies the last three years. He started four games in 2023 but only saw significant reps in three games, including against Nebraska and Tulsa. If Hoth extrapolates his play from those two contests, he could vault up the 2024 MAC OT Rankings.
7) Ted Kushi and Adam Vandervest, Western Michigan Broncos
Jack Sherwin receives most of the recognition on Western Michigan’s line — for good reason, as you’ll soon see — but his tackle counterpart deserves your attention as well. Whether that is Ted Kushi or Adam Vandervest remains to be seen, but both players have played well when called upon.
Kushi rotated with Sherwin at RT last season, but he started at LT for Long Island in 2022. Meanwhile, Vandervest saw decent playing time behind Michael Shanahan in 2023 and outplayed him at times.
6) Evan Malcore, Northern Illinois Huskies
As a redshirt freshman, Evan Malcore started the last six games in 2023 and put on a clinic against Central Michigan, Ball State, and Western Michigan. After getting his feet wet and having another offseason to sharpen his skill set, he’ll push for a top-five spot in the final 2024 MAC OT Rankings.
5) Shedrick Rhodes Jr., Ohio Bobcats
At 6’6″ and over 320 pounds, Shedrick Rhodes Jr. is a brick house of a man. He took his lumps in his first year starting in 2022, but he showed vast improvements in his hand usage and pass sets last season. Rhodes ensures all roads are closed to his QB and simply has to lean forward to move defensive linemen off their spots in the running game.
4) Mickey Rewolinski, Eastern Michigan Eagles
Mickey Rewolinski moved from right guard to left tackle prior to last season and somehow got better. His movement skills were always a plus on the interior and translated well on the edge. He may not be a Badger, but the Wisconsin native certainly shows shades of an offensive lineman from the NFL factory.
3) Will Jados, Miami RedHawks
Keeping QB Brett Gabbert healthy is Miami’s No. 1 priority in 2024, and having the conference’s best tackle duo is a great place to start. Standing 6’8″, Will Jados’ sheer size and arm length serve as a roadblock at left tackle.
Following a 10-start campaign in 2022, he trotted out with the first team in every game last year. Jados doesn’t possess the quickest feet but makes up for it with patience, awareness, and active hands.
2) Reid Holskey, Miami RedHawks
Although Reid Holskey doesn’t have Jados’ towering frame, he has three years of starting experience and is as consistent as they come at right tackle. With a consistent base and short-area athleticism, Holskey is one of the best pass protectors in the MAC.
But that’s not all, as he uses his movement ability and strength to pave lanes in the ground game, working to the second level with relative ease.
1) Jack Sherwin, Western Michigan Broncos
Every tackle on this list is, at the very least, an adequate run blocker, with those at the top generating push up front routinely. But all of them pale in comparison to Western Michigan’s resident road grader Jack Sherwin.

He began his collegiate career as a TE/DE recruit, so it has taken him some time to develop on the offensive line. At 6’3″ with average arm length, longer and bendier edge rushers can give him trouble in pass protection, but he’s improved as a technician in that phase. Regardless, just call a run and watch a master at work.
