Lee Corso is set to retire after the 2025 season’s first “College GameDay” show on Aug. 30. It will broadcast live from Columbus, Ohio, for the game between Ohio State and Texas. As the 90-year-old wraps up his career, fans would like to know the net worth of the iconic figure in college football.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Corso has a net worth of $12 million. Corso, known for his trademark headgear predictions, has been a staple of ESPN’s show since 1987. Before his broadcasting career, Corso served as head coach at Louisville, Indiana, Northern Illinois, and briefly in the USFL.
Apart from his broadcasting career, Corso has also appeared in several commercials, most notably in a 2006 Nike commercial. He has also earned royalties and has signed endorsement deals with many brands, including EA Sports’ NCAA Football video game.

Still, it came as a shock to many when the time finally arrived. On April 17, Corso announced that he would step away from ESPN’s College GameDay following the Week 1 broadcast on August 30.
“My family and I will be forever indebted for the opportunity to be part of ESPN and College GameDay for nearly 40 years,” Corso said in a statement via ESPN. “I have a treasure of many friends, fond memories and some unusual experiences to take with me into retirement.”
ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro praised Corso for his years of work and said his retirement would be celebrated.
“Lee Corso has developed a special connection to generations of fans through his entertaining style and iconic headgear picks,” ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro said. “Lee is one of the most influential and beloved figures in the history of college football and our ESPN team will celebrate his legendary career during his final College GameDay appearance this August.”
Lee Corso and his trademark headgear tradition will be remembered for years to come. But for now, it’s time to celebrate his iconic legacy.
