Deion Sanders will have a new quarterback in the pocket after his son, Shedeur Sanders, departed for the NFL. The 2025 season is going to be interesting for many reasons because Coach Prime will not have his two sons by his side or his prime offensive weapon, Travis Hunter, to lead the squad.
However, a revamped roster promises great success for the team. Top prospect Julian ‘JuJ’u Lewis’s father, TC Lewis, is optimistic about the future and recently shared what may have influenced Coach Prime’s lean toward his son.

JuJu Lewis’ Dad Opens Up About His Son’s Recruitment
Deion Sanders will have options in the 2025 season as he makes his pick for the QB1 role at Colorado. Both JuJu and Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter have been phenomenal so far, and fans are eagerly waiting to see what they offer.
On Wednesday, Feb. 5, JuJu Lewis’s dad, TC Lewis, shared Colorado’s persistent efforts to secure his son’s commitment. While speaking to Rivals, he mentioned that it was impressive to draw the attention of Coach Prime and noted the efforts made over the past few months.
“He’s one of the most heavily scrutinized recruits in a long time.”

“One of the most heavily scrutinized recruits in a long time, in terms of, you know, who he is, and I think Coach Prime valued who he was, and I think he valued his ability to withstand all the noise,” TC Lewis said of his son.
“And I’ve kind of, you know, I don’t know if you’ve seen me on Twitter recently, but I think that’s probably the thing about Jude that doesn’t get talked about, in my opinion, enough — is just his ability to go through all that and continue to perform at a high level, regardless of rankings going up or down, or anything else that went on, reclassification, additional academics, those kinds of things.
“And talking to Prime was like, you know, like, like, I understand those things. I understand the spotlight. I understand this stage. And, you know, I think one of the things that drew them to Julian was his ability to perform under pressure,” he added.
Lewis’ arm strength has been impressive at Carrollton High. Before entering the state playoff game in 2024, he recorded 2,842 passing yards and completed 200 of his 257 passes (77.8%).
