Florida State QB Jordan Travis made his own history in the defeat over Miami, etching his name further into the FSU history books.
Jordan Travis Makes FSU History
With their defeat of the Miami Hurricanes, Florida State QB Jordan Travis became the first Seminole quarterback to lead his FSU team to victory over the Hurricanes three times. Travis threw for 265 yards and a touchdown against Miami this season, completing 19-of-31 passes. He took several sacks, but his dual-threat ability was evident with a near-Heisman-worthy touchdown run in the second half.
On that run, Travis shook off three defenders in the backfield, spun around two attempted tacklers, and was only just tripped up before he stumbled just ahead of the goalline.
In 2022, Travis orchestrated a much more convincing victory over Miami. He led the ‘Noles to a 45-3 shellacking over Miami, throwing for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Travis had kicked his starting career off against Miami with a 31-28 victory over the Hurricanes in 2021 when he threw for 274 yards and ran for 62 yards with two scores on the ground.
In total, Travis has thrown for 741 yards and scored six total touchdowns in his three starting victories over Miami.
Making history as a quarterback at Florida State isn’t easy. Yet, Travis has made it seem simple enough. Considering the likes of Jameis Winston, Charlie Ward, Chris Weinke, and a host of talented others who have also won some top individual awards, Travis’ place in the FSU history books is almost as impressive as his level of play has been.
Travis is officially an FSU legend and his legacy continues to grow with each passing game. Enjoy him while you have him, Seminole fans.
