A Must-Have for Jack Sawyer Fans

Late in the fourth quarter of the 2025 Cotton Bowl, with Texas threatening to tie the game, Sawyer made a play that instantly became the stuff of Buckeye lore. It stripped the Texas QB Quinn Ewers and returned the fumble 83 yards for a game-sealing touchdown.

The moment, forever known as “83 Yards Through the Heart of Texas,” sent Buckeye Nation into a frenzy and secured Ohio State’s spot in the national championship game.

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is releasing a limited-edition Jack Sawyer bobblehead capturing his iconic celebration. The bobblehead perfectly recreates Sawyer’s triumphant pose, standing on a circular field-like base bearing his name.

“This bobblehead will be a must-have for fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the hometown hero who made Buckeyes fans across the state and world so proud!” said Phil Sklar, co-founder and CEO of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.

It’s individually numbered and available for pre-order at this link for $40 each, plus an $8 flat-rate shipping charge per order. The bobbleheads are expected to ship in August, making them a perfect collectible for any Ohio State fan.

Sawyer’s Cotton Bowl play was a defining moment in Ohio State’s championship run. The Buckeyes defeated Texas 28-14 in Arlington, Texas, and the defensive end’s historic fumble return earned him the game’s Defensive MVP award. His performance helped push Ohio State to its sixth College Football Playoff appearance and, ultimately, its ninth national title.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, and raised in Pickerington, Sawyer was a lifelong Buckeye fan before committing to Ohio State as a sophomore in high school. He was the first recruit of the Ryan Day era, and his journey came full circle when he played a pivotal role in delivering the program’s first national title since 2014.

Ten days later, on January 20, 2025, Ohio State capped off an incredible season by defeating Notre Dame 34-23 in the College Football Playoff National Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The Buckeyes played in front of 77,660 fans, the second-largest crowd in CFP championship history. Sawyer contributed three tackles in the championship win, ending his Buckeye career on the highest note possible.

Over four seasons at Ohio State, Sawyer racked up 144 tackles and 23 sacks in 54 games, building his legacy as one of the program’s all-time greats.

With the Jack Sawyer bobblehead, fans can forever celebrate the defensive standout’s legendary moment that will live on in Ohio State history.
