Is Eric Singleton Playing Against Oklahoma? All We Know About Auburn WR’s Injury Status vs Sooners

Auburn wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. has been managing a hip pointer injury that surfaced during the Tigers’ Week 3 win over South Alabama. While the issue created concern earlier in the week, Singleton has shown steady progress and is expected to be available when Auburn takes on Oklahoma.

Singleton entered the season with some minor thigh issues, but those never forced him to miss time. He has appeared in all three games this year and has already become one of Auburn’s most important offensive weapons.

On the first injury report of the week, Singleton was listed as questionable. He did not participate fully in team drills during practice, but he stayed involved in other sessions and in special teams work. That was an early sign that his injury was not severe.

Probable does not guarantee a full workload, but it strongly suggests that Singleton will suit up. Coaches often manage players’ snap counts in these situations to avoid further aggravation.

Still, there has been no indication that Singleton will be sidelined, and reports point to him being active against the Sooners. For Auburn, having Singleton available is a major boost.

The expectation is that he will play on Saturday, though his usage may depend on how the hip responds in warm-ups. Auburn fans can expect him on the field in some capacity against Oklahoma.

Auburn has played well so far in the first three weeks. They have remained unbeaten after facing the Baylor Bears, the Ball State Cardinals, and the South Alabama Jaguars. With Singleton possibly in the lineup, they’d look to extend their unbeaten run.

Eric Singleton is Excited to Play Against Oklahoma

During a recent conversation with SI, Singleton talked about his team’s passing game, Hugh Freeze’s game plan, and the matchup against Oklahoma. The WR stated that he was looking forward to doing his best against the Sooners.

“I’m super excited,” Singleton stated. “Playing against a team like Oklahoma, you know, I grew up watching them on TV. So it’s exciting to play there and play on TV in front of my family.”

Even though the Tigers haven’t been incredible with their passing game so far, Singleton is confident that they have a lot more in store. He believes that in the coming weeks, the Tigers are going to dominate.

“Coach (Hugh) Freeze just asked me if I want the ball in my hands, and I let him know, of course, I want the ball in my hands. Especially since I don’t have to rely on the ball being in the air, or especially being double-teamed, I can just get the ball now and make a play and make something happen now,” Singleton said when asked about the running game.

Today’s matchup will give Auburn a chance to improve their rankings if they execute their plans well.
