The Indiana Hoosiers are in the College Football Playoff Semis, and they are the odds-on favorite to win the national title. This has certainly had an effect in the transfer portal as Curt Cignetti has gotten a lot of transfers, most notably TCU quarterback Josh Hoover, who is set to replace the graduating Heisman winner, Fernando Mendoza.
It is not just Hoover that is coming in from the transfer portal, as some big names are also inbound for next season, including All-Big Ten Honorable Mention Nick Marsh, a wide receiver from Michigan State who has had a good season but decided to leave the Spartans. So, who else is going in?

Players Coming Into Indiana Via the Transfer Portal
- Josh Hoover (QB, TCU)
- Nick Marsh (WR, Michigan State)
- Tobi Osunsanmi (EDGE, Kansas State)
- Joshua Burnham (EDGE, Notre Dame)
- Turbo Richard (RB, Boston College)
- Jiquan Sanks (S, Cincinnati)
- Preston Zachman (S, Wisconsin)
Hoover is definitely the jewel of this transfer portal haul for Indiana, with the quarterback passing for 3,472 yards, 29 touchdowns and 13 interceptions and is the current FBS leader in career pass yards (9,629) and touchdown passes (71), though he only has one year of eligibility remaining and will be expected to leave Indiana after the 2026 season.
He and Nick Marsh should get along nicely, as the wide receiver has gotten 59 catches for 662 yards and six touchdowns, with an upside of him still having two years of eligibility left, making him one of the most desirable receivers in the portal. The same can be said for former Boston College RB Turbo Richard, who can rush and pass, being effective in both aspects of the game.
A couple of EDGE players and safeties are also coming in to bring more depth to Indiana’s already-scary defense, including former Cincinnati safety and true sophomore Jiquan Sanks, who has had 50 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, four pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
Players Coming Leaving Indiana Via the Transfer Portal
- CB Amariyun Knighten
- DE William Depaepe
- DE Andrew Depaepe
- IOL Mitch Verstegen
- WR Makai Jackson
As expected, not a lot of players will be leaving Curt Cignetti’s program as the team is really pushing for a national title run. The players who are leaving are mostly ones who have had little to no playing time this year, or were injured.
