Henry Ruggs III was a star receiver for the Alabama Crimson Tide before being picked in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft. However, he was sentenced to 10 years following a deadly DUI crash in 2021.
Recently, he graduated from the University of Alabama, scoring a perfect 4.0 GPA in his final semester, earning President’s List honors. But fans want to know if he is still in jail.

Is Henry Ruggs Still In Jail?
Yes, Henry Ruggs is still serving his sentence in jail. In fact, he was recently moved to high security prison, the details of which remain unclear.
Ruggs was enjoying a fine football career until one night came and changed everything. Driving drunk, twice the legal limit of alcohol, he pleaded guilty to causing a high-speed collision in Las Vegas that killed 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog.
The former receiver pleaded guilty in 2023 to one count of DUI resulting in death and one count of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.
Earlier this month, the Nevada Department of Corrections transferred him from a low-security transitional facility in Las Vegas to a medium-security prison in northern Nevada. According to Fox5Vegas, he was involved in an infraction at the low-security prison while working in the Governor’s Mansion. He was part of the Stewart Conservation Camp in northern Nevada. The transfer took place on Oct. 16 as per records.
Thus, as per the state records, Ruggs remains imprisoned until he’s eligible for parole, which won’t be until August 2026.
