The first 2026 F1 Pre-Season Test in Barcelona has finally concluded, as 10 out of the 11 teams made their way to the track over the five days at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit. This test was a major opportunity for all teams on the grid to get their 2026 challengers out on track for the first time and learn about their strengths and weaknesses.
The 2026 F1 season will introduce one of the biggest regulation changes in recent times. From this year onwards, the cars will receive a complete aerodynamic overhaul, while the power units will move to a near 50/50 split between electric and internal combustion power. The new cars will also be smaller and lighter, and will run on 100% sustainable fuel.
Hence, the five-day test in Barcelona became an essential practice for the team as they themselves organized the behind-closed-doors event. One of the biggest focuses during this test for all teams has been to check how reliable their new power units are. This can be judged by how many laps each team and manufacturer completed over the five days.
In this article, we will discover how many laps in total each team and manufacturer completed duringthe Barcelona Pre-Season Test to give us a better idea of the kind of mileage each engine was able to provide over the five days.
For reference, each team was only allowed to run on three of the five days. Aston Martin only competed on the final two days after delays relating to their AMR26 challenger. Williams was also unable to compete in the test after reports came out that the FW48 failed multiple crash tests before January 26.
The weather also played a part in limiting running as only two teams took part on Day 2 of the test on Tuesday due to the wet conditions.
